About Dr. Annabelle Kyle Dortch
Anxiety and Trauma Therapist
My name is Dr. Annabelle Kyle Dortch and I am a licensed psychologist providing teletherapy to clients living in New York and California. I specialize in helping adults and young adults navigate anxiety, stress management, life transitions & the impacts of trauma.

The central belief that drives my time with clients is this: You make sense. Throughout our lives, we are deeply impacted by both good & difficult experiences. We build defenses & habits that may have ensured emotional or physical safety in the past, but are now contributing to suffering in our personal lives. This framework impacts my work with clients in that my assumption will always be that you are not "crazy": the way that you are & what you are experiencing makes sense. Together, we can understand and address what is increasing the distress in your life.

Therapeutic Experience
Before entering private practice, I spent several years providing therapy to undergraduate and graduate students at various universities (most recently Fordham University & California State University of Long Beach). Through professional training, nine years working with clients, and my own experience in therapy, I have become intimately familiar with the joys & challenges of vulnerability, self-discovery, identifying how the past impacts present, and using new insights to move toward a different future. Whatever the content of our sessions might be, you can expect me to show up with warmth, support, curiosity, skill, and transparent honesty. I have confidence that together we can navigate difficult emotions, build up your healthy coping skills, and address your goals.
